Court rejects bail plea of lawyers who forged bail order

Srinagar, Feb 22: A court here has rejected the bail application of two advocates who were arrested earlier this month on charges of forging a High Court bail order to get three car-theft accused released in 2017.
Pir Amir Rashid of Srinagar and Mousavir Bashir Mir of Baramulla had filed the bail application through their counsel before Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar.
The CJM, however, rejected the bail plea of both the accused advocates, a police officer told GNS.
The two advocates were arrested on February 9 after a complaint was filed by the Registrar Judicial of the High Court in 2017 in police station Shaheed Gunj here in connection with the forging of bail documents in favour of three persons accused in connection with a car theft case.
Acting on a complaint, the police filed a case under FIR number 83/2017 under section 420, 467, 468, 471 RPC in police station Shaheed Gunj here.
After conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, the police arrested the two advocates for forging of the bail order.
The two advocates had secured the release of the three accused persons who were lodged in Central Jail Srinagar with the help of the forged order.
The accused involved in the car theft case were arrested by Magam police station. After the Magam court rejected their bail, the accused approached the Budgam court where the bail was again rejected.
They then approached the high court for bail through advocates Pir Amir Rashid and Mousavir Bashir Mir which was also rejected, after which the two advocates forged a bail order to secure the accused trio’s release.
