Complete all languishing projects before end of March: Samoon

Jammu, Mar 2: Principal Secretary Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries departments, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today directed the concerned to complete all the languishing projects of Animal & Sheep Husbandry departments before end of March this year.

He was speaking at a review meeting convened to take stock of progress on these languishing projects, so far.

The meeting was attended by Directors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments from both the divisions, Chief Animal Husbandry Officers and Chief Sheep Husbandry Officers of all the districts, Engineers from executing agencies like R&B, PHE and others were present in the meeting.

Samoon impressed upon the concerned departments to accelerate the pace of work wherever required so that all the projects get completed well before the deadline of March. He asked the officials to visit the sites and remove the bottlenecks, if any, so that these projects are dedicated to public soon.

Principal Secretary reviewed each of the projects and ascertained their current status from the concerned officers. He asked them to work in collaboration with the district administration for ensuring that these projects get completed at the earliest.

It was informed that among the 44 projects of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments, 4 have been completed under ESVHD, the payments against 13 have been released, 1 has been uploaded for payment, 4 are geo tagged and 22 are at different stages of completion.

Further, it was revealed that Animal Husbandry has 9 projects each in Kashmir and Jammu divisions, Sheep Husbandry has 8 in Kashmir and 15 in Jammu division whereas Fisheries has 3 projects funded under the languishing category.

It was decided that all the departments would intensify their efforts for delivering these projects well before the deadline of March, 2020.
