Chenani-Udhampur track unsafe for travelers this winter

Srinagar, Nov 11: The passengers who were stuck in snow recently on the Srinagar-Jammu highway here on Sunday said that Chennani-Udhampur track is a dangerous accident prone area and almost unsafe for the travelers this winter.

A legion of travelers while narrating a woeful tale during the recent snowing on Srinagar-Jammu highway at Srinagar office of Kashmir News Service alleged that the authorities of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) are carrying out the work at a snail’s pace despite seeing vehicles dancing on the sketchy track. Though the condition of the road is unfit for the movement of traffic from Ramban-Ramsoo also where the landslides come down frequently and traffic gets disrupted but the Chennani-Udhampur track has become unsafe for travelers this winter as the repair work is going on at a very snail’s pace.

Repeated attempts to establish contacts with the concerned authorities of the National Highway Authority of India failed as they didn’t bother to respond to the repeated calls from KNS office Srinagar.
