Srinagar, Jan 29: Even after completing all the recruitment related formalities, Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) since the last five months has failed to release the selection list for the post of general line teachers.
The examination conducted for various teacher posts by state-based recruitment agency, JKSSB, was held in April and May last year after which the results were declared in June and July.
Candidates, however, rue “unnecessary” delay despite completion of the document verification process by JKSSB in September last year.
An applicant who name appeared in the provision list told The Kashmir Monitor said, “The delay in announcement of selected candidates is affecting at least 2000 applicants, whose names appeared in the provisional list. We fail to understand the reasons behind the withholding of selection list.”
Nadeem Shah (name changed), another candidate contested that the final list should have been made public in just three months as per SRO-202.
“According to the SRO-202, the agency should prepare final selection list in three months but it is getting delayed for no reasons,” he said.
Many candidates said the delay in the announcement of selection list is hampering the future plans of scores of such aspirants.
“There are countless qualified candidates who are unemployed and have been eagerly waiting for the final selection list. Instead of providing more recruitment opportunities, the authorities are pushing youth towards mental agony,” they said.
An official of JKSSB told The Kashmir Monitor the selection list is under submission and assured its declaration soon.
The official, when asked about the reason for a delay, said, “There were cases of some differently abled candidates and their formalities were yet to be completed.”
