Srinagar, July 21: Militant outfit, Lashkar-e-Taiba on Saturday said that those who are taking part in elections
and are “betraying Jammu Kashmir's indigenous struggle will get nothing out of this blatant deception”.
In an e-mailed statement, LeT spokesman, Dr Abdullah Ghaznawi quoted the outfit chief, Mahmood Shah
said, “India is not a democratic country but a terrorist one. It would have implemented the UN Resolutions
on Kashmir if it was a democratic country.”
“PDP and NC don't compete with United Nations in status. India is using such organizations to fulfill its
vicious motives, ultimately with an intention to damage the indigenous struggle. On the other hand, such
organizations believe that they are a part of governance. But in reality BJP has decided to break PDP and
they will do so eventually,” he said.
“Jammu Kashmir's political situation has caught its pace after the Pilgrimage (Yatra). The mourners of
Mehbooba Mufti's political demise will be far much lower in numbers than those who took part in the
funeral prayers of Mufti Saeed,” LeT added.
Shah said that “a safe promising future of Jammu Kashmir is dependent on freedom from illegal Indian
occupation. Political enigmas are nothing but the shackles of slavery.”
He also strongly condemned the “unjust atrocity imposed on the residents of Harwan, Sopore, slain Sajjad
Ahmed Abu Mansoor's family members by the security forces.”
“The security forces are using human rights violations as a weapon of war. The people are losing their
patience over India's atrocities and picking up guns in turn to ensure their safety. India is putting itself in
compromising position by imposing such atrocities. India will be avenged when it is time,” he added.

LS Polls: Judge my 11 years in politics, then vote: Rasheed

Srinagar, March 26: Appealing masses to vote for him, AIP President and candidate from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency Er Rasheed on Tuesday addressed around a dozen gatherings at Pattan, Khunbal Handwara, Chowkibal, Trahgam, Kralpora, Batergam and other various places.

The spokesman said that Rasheed thanked the people for showing their support and assured that he will not let them down. “My eleven years performance in Assembly needs to be judged by masses and people have a right to reject me if others have represented them better. Let Kashmiris understand their duties and not miss the opportunity to send the right persons in parliament to represent their sufferings and sentiments. If people make a wrong choice yet again, the onus will lie on them, not on those who exploit their sentiments,” Rasheed was quoted by the spokesman as saying.

Accusing NC, PDP and PC of displaying worst hypocrisy, Rasheed said that these parties have nothing to offer except what their “masters” in Delhi want them to do just to make the election drama a success.

He said; “While Kashmir is burning for three decades, the leaders have been the biggest beneficiaries of the conflict and the regional forces have acted like B teams of Congress and BJP. It is shameful that Mehbooba Mufti and Ali Mohammad Sagar are comparing their cadres with Mujahideen, without having any idea what they mean by saying so and thus hurting religious sentiments of masses”.

Rasheed appealed masses to give AIP a chance so that the voice of “suppressers and deprived” reaches the right place and the miseries of Kashmiris come to an end.

Clustering of polling stations done to serve interests of BJP, its allies: PDP

Srinagar, March 26: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday termed coming polls defining moment for the future of Jammu and Kashmir and said that various attempts are being made to prevent people from exercising their franchise.

Soon after PDP leader Aga Syed Mohsin filed his nomination as a PDP candidate from Srinagar parliamentary constituency, a meeting of PDP’s Zonal presidents and assembly segment incharges was held in the party head office here in which several leaders took part to discuss the poll campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar said the PDP has advantage over other parties as its candidate has clean reputation and brings freshness which is very rare in current Srinagar contest.

“One contestant who has the distinction of being the senior most politician in the state, is going in the election with a charge sheet of swindling money which was meant for the youth to play cricket. Others are proclaimed bank defaulters, tax evaders and encroachers. The choice for the candidates should be clear for the voters now,” Akhtar said in his speech.

He added that if Farooq Abdullah gets elected again, he will be vulnerable to all kinds of manipulation. “When he was Chief Minister of the state with a record number of sixty MLAs, he gave away state’s interests, importing POTA, selling water resources, unleashing the reign of terror by introducing Ikhwan in Kashmir and made catch and kill a normal routine. At present, Farooq Abdullah is extremely weak on personal front and he will be vulnerable to all kinds of pressures. People have to be wary of that,” Akhtar said.

Expressing serious concern over the clustering of polling stations, he said that it seems that this is being done to safeguard the interests of the BJP and its allies. “Because they have recently tasted blood, having their own municipal councils and corporations in Kashmir where they hardly have any voters,” Akhtar said, adding that clustering of polling stations is actually aimed to restrict voters because they have made the voters vulnerable to threats and dangers while making them walk even four to five kilometres to vote.

He added that while government is making the machines and the polling staff secure, it is ironically exposing the people who want to vote in spite of trying circumstances to greater dangers. “Why cannot it be done as according to the previous practice. It seems that this is being done to safeguard the interests of the BJP and its allies because they have recently tasted blood, having their own municipal councils and corporations in Kashmir where they hardly have any voters,” Akhtar said.

The PDP leader added that people have to be wary about it and the election commission has to take note of this. “We have already lodged a complaint in Election Commission of India but unfortunately there is no response so far from the administration which makes the whole exercise suspect”

General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura while speaking on the occasion castigated recent statements of NC vice President Omar Abdullah and termed his uncalled for jibes against the PDP akin to pot calling the kettle black. He said that it was NC that was first to unleash terror against Jamaat-e-Islami, lock down hundreds of its schools and jeopardized career of thousands of students. Hanjura said that by going through Omar Abdullah’s statements, one easily comes to know how NC brought NIA to the state of Jammu and Kashmir and accorded it with a free hand to raid houses and seize properties.

Senior PDP leaders Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Noor Mohammad, Asea Naqash and several others also spoke on the occasion.

NIA, EDs allegations baseless, people well aware of all: Geelani

Srinagar, March 26: Rejecting the reports circulated by Indian agencies NIA and ED about the seizing properties belonging to incarcerated leaders Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Mehraj-ud-din Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, and prominent businessman Zahoor Ahmad Watali lodged in Tihar jail, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that the health of these allegations against the leaders is known to everybody and people very well understand the mindset behind such baseless accusations.

It is propaganda and baseless, aimed to gratify their vote bank and as long as Kashmiris are hit hard, the power athirst forces are guaranteed Narinder Modi to stay in power.

In a statement issued to media, he said, Hurriyat (G) chairman said that the government is very well aware about the fact that the Hurriyat leaders have not amassed any illegal properties.

“Claiming to seize the property at the time of election in India has put a big question mark on the competence and efficiency of their much hyped investigative institution, which has dug so low to pave its worse in every trivial issue without any documentary proof,” he said.

Hurriyat leader said that in order to win parliament elections, Narendra Modi claimed that his government held air strikes in Pakistan, but when the international community, opposition and sane voices in India raised question over this claim, Indian government launched a crackdown on Hurriyat organizations, political leadership, and unarmed people of Kashmir to silence opposite voices.

Terming the Kashmir dispute a reality like Himalaya, Hurriyat chairman said that rulers and their supporters should bear it in mind that muscular approach can never force a nation to submission and curbing the political space and arresting the political leadership in forged and fake charges and creating fear psychoses cannot lease them forever.

Geelani said that people of India in majority have been intoxicated with a venomous propaganda against the movement of Kashmir and its leadership by their fascist government with the help of their hyper-national and biased media houses.

In such times, it’s the responsibility of Kashmir’s conscious journalists and writers to being forth the reality of oppressed Kashmiris. It’s understood that propaganda takes front page headlines in newspapers, but it is also important to highlight the sufferings and hardships of Kashmiri people at the hands of military might.
