Srinagar, Mar 8: BJP’s Kashmir unit Sunday welcomed the launching of new political party and hoped that it would work for the progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Party’s Kashmir media in-charge Manzoor Bhat in a statement welcomed the launching of Altaf Bukhari led ‘Apni Party’ and hoped that they should jointly work for “peace and progress” in the region.

He said they are also hopeful that the new party would not “deceive people of J&K as PDP, NC and Congress did during the past 70 years in the region”.

“People were fed-off of family and traditional politics in the valley and now they want to see a vibrant change,” he said, adding they would jointly work for the development of the region.

Bhat said it would be a new political beginning and would pave for development and prosperity in J&K. “We hope that party would act as platform for people from all religions and castes,” he said.

As per Bhat launching of new party would strengthen the democracy in the region. He also urged that party should not work for vote banks as Muftis and Abdullahs did during the past 60 years.

He also said it good for democracy as long as its leaders have integrity.

“Issues they raise must have substance and important for the growth of the region,” he said.
