Jammu, Dec 14: Security guards Friday saved People’s Democratic Party leader Firdous Tak from the wrath of goons after they tried to manhandle him near Press Club Jammu.

Tak was heading towards Press Club Jammu and a press conference when according to witnesses right wing Bajrang Dal activists tried to heckle him. Security personnel escorting him, however, saved him from the goons who continuously raised slogans against him.

Bajrang Dal activists alleged that Firdous Tak made some anti-Jammu remarks, a charge vehemently refuted by PDP leader.

Reports said that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and member of legislative council (MLC) in Jammu Firdous Ahmed Tak had alleged that some political party are using goading religious sentiments of people and are harassing Muslims in Jammu region.
Meanwhile, former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti while condemning the attack sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik. “Strongly condemn the manhandling of PDP MLC Firdous Tak by Bajrang Dal workers while heading towards Press Club for a press conference in Jammu.Hope @jkgovernor takes note,” she tweeted.
