No exchange of fire took place’

Pulwama: Suspected militants on Sunday fired upon patrolling a party of 50 RR in Parigam area of Pulwama, however, no one was injured in the attack, police said here.

An official said that militants fired upon a patrolling party in Parigam village, following which search operation was launched in the area to nab the attackers.

A senior police official said there was no exchange of fire in the area as reported by many news outlets, however, few gunshots were fired upon the patrolling party of 50 RR, after which a search operation was launched in the area.

Earlier, it was reported that a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Parigam village, however, police denied the reports and said that no exchange of fire took place in the area—(KNO)
