Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan Monday underscored the need of mass
awareness about several welfare schemes of Labour and Employment (L&E)
Department so that the deserving lot would be benefitted exponentially.

L&E Department at Civil Secretariat.
The meeting was
also attended by Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment, Saurabh Bhagat;
Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War and other concerned officers.
The Advisor was
given a brief about the functioning of the department while deliberating about
several issues pertaining to Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESI).

retired, superannuated insured persons, besides widow, spouses of insured
persons who ceases to be in an insurable employment on account of permanent

under ESI (MB) Scheme, J&K, eight service dispensaries are being run by
J&K Government and these dispensaries provide Primary Care Services
including treatment, medicines, certification and primary scrutiny of IP
reimbursement claims, it was given out.
Speaking on the
occasion, Advisor Khan stressed upon the officials to launch mass awareness campaigns
through print and electronic media so that the schemes and programmes would
reach to the deserving lot.

further informed that new initiatives are being taken by ESI Corporation by
leveraging technology to facilitate the scheme, a mobile app (Dhanwantri app)
and a web app has been developed for documentation of clinical data and
registration of stakeholders.
