Srinagar: Amid the complete shutdown in Kashmir, 35 .52 % votes were polled till 1:00 pm in state’s two constituencies – Baramulla and Jammu during the first phase of Lok Sabha elections that on Thursday.

An official spokesman said that 15. 1 % votes were polled in Baramulla, 30.8 were polled in Kupwara, and Bandipora was at 20.9 %.

Pertinently PDP’S Abdul Qayoom Wani, Raja Aijaz Ali of People’s Conference, Akbar Lone of National Conference, Er Rasheed as Independent, BJP’s M. M War, Najeeb Naqvi as Independent, Farooq Ahmed Mir for Congress, Jehangir Khan NPP, Javeed Ahmed Qureshi as Independent, Abdul Rashid Sheikh are contesting Lok Sabha elections for Baramulla seat.

In Jammu, 45.9 % votes were polled, 52.1 % were polled in Samba, Rajouri was at 44. 8 % and Poonch recorded 35. 8% votes till 1:00 pm.

Meanwhile, a shutdown is being observed in the valley following the JRL call against the Lok Sabha polls and NIA summons to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik.
