30250 fine realized, 34 traders booked in Bandipora

Bandipora, Mar 04: A market checking squad of Legal Metrology realized a fine of Rs 30250 from erring shopkeepers in the district.

Taking strong note of the complaints, the district administration has launched a massive district-wide market checking drive to curb profiteering, hoarding and illegal trade practices.

The squad lead by Assistant Controller conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable and fruit sellers, poultry, mutton sellers, kiryana, bakery, LPG distributors and fuel dispensing pumps at Mantrigam, Sumlar, Madwan, Hajin, Malangam, Quil, Onagam and Patushai areas of the district.

During the inspection, 34 traders were booked various laws for violation of legal metrology laws and a fine of Rs 30250 was imposed on erring traders.

On the occasion, he asked the traders to strictly adhere to the Legal Metrology and other Consumer Laws and also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other Metrology Acts.
