Srinagar: 2G Mobile internet services were restored today in Kashmir after remaining suspended for six days.
Voice calling and internet services were blocked on Wednesday after Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Commander Riyaz Naikoo along with associate was killed in a gunfight in Pulwama on May 6.
Though voice calling was restored few days back, but 2G internet and short messaging services (SMS) remained barred.
Even though Kashmir is under the coronavirus lockdown for the last 50 days days, additional police and paramilitary forces personnel were deployed in many sensitive and vulnerable areas for maintaining peace.
