Youth dies of drowning in Baramulla

Srinagar: A 23 year-old youth drowned into a nallah at Frashtar area of Kreeri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

Witnesses said the youth, a shepherd, drowned in the nallah when he was bathing his sheep. He slipped into the nallah and drowned, they said.

Soon after the incident, locals with help of police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the nallah and shifted it to SDH Kreeri where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Hospital authorities confirmed the death and identified the deceased as Arif Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Rashid Malik, resident of Tilagam Kreeri in Baramulla.
