Srinagar, Dec 2: Come Autumn, a fiery palette of gold, crimson, and rust hues is luring couples to Kashmir to click picture-perfect for Made in Heaven style weddings.

The valley is currently witnessing a surge in visitors not only for its scenic beauty but increasingly for the unique charm it lends to pre-wedding photoshoots.

Couples from different states of the country rush to the valley to get their wedding memories caught in cameras in the backdrop of autumn hues and mighty hills.

“Kashmir is an autumn destination for the entire India. We have seen hundreds of pre-wedding shoots on social media handles. We also wanted to create a memory of our wedding by spending time in Kashmir and capturing it,” said Sanjana Mehta from Mumbai.

Mehta has a team of photographers and choreographers from Mumbai. “Our pre-wedding shoot is a kind of fusion between Kashmiri and Maharashtrian cultures. We have a few of the dance sequences apart from the regular shoots in Kashmir. We are excited and enjoy it so far,” she said.

Pertinently, the wedding season in the rest of India starts from November onwards as the temperature drops significantly to favor bigger functions like marriages.

As such the filmmakers claimed that Kashmir is one of the hotspots for pre-wedding shoots currently.

“Currently Kashmir and Jaipur are the two destinations for which we get a good number of requests for pre-wedding shoots. Though Kashmir is relatively costlier than Jaipur, we get enough locations and variety to shoot some best pre-wedding films. The natural beauty, with golden trees and misty mornings, adds a timeless elegance to the photos and films,” said Shamsuddin Sheikh, a filmmaker.

The local filmmakers too are capitalising on the trend to film the best re-wedding shoots from the valley.  “The local filmmakers know about the geography of the region. Apart from regular Mughal gardens, we move to some of the offbeat places and film the best pre-wedding shoots. We have been into pre-wedding filmmaking for the last three years. This year the rush of couples is more,” said Umar Bhat, a local filmmaker.
