The wait for WhatsApp’s most-awaited group calling feature is finally coming to an end. The chat app is rolling out the feature to select iOS and Android users. The iOS users using the WhatsApp version 2.18.52 are receiving it in stable build while the Android users on beta version 2.18.145 and above are getting it.

The news comes from WhatsApp’s fan site WaBetaInfo. The report states that not every user will receive the feature as it will be rolled out to only select users for now. It further reports that the feature does not work with an invitation system.

Facebook at its 2018 F8 conference announced the WhatsApp group calling feature for both voice and video calls. The company had said that the feature will be rolled out in coming few months. From the example video shown by the company, we know that at least four people would be able to join in the conversation on WhatsApp with this feature.

The competition to deliver the best communication chat app experience is getting intense every day. The cross-platform trend has added fuel to this fire. Paytm which started as a pure e-wallet company has now entered in to chat service by launching its own chat app feature whereas WhatsApp which is famous as chat app has added a Payment feature to itself.

At times like these when every company is pushing its best to overthrow the other, WhatsApp has left no stone unturned to stay afoot in this market. The chat app has rolled out several new features and is working on many new features that are to come soon.

WhatsApp is working on a new Chat filter feature. It is coming soon to WhatsApp version 2.18.84. As the name suggests, the chat filter will help users narrow their search within the chat app. Once the feature goes live, users will see a search icon and when tapped on it, they will be shown three filters- unread chats, groups and broadcast lists.

So if a user wants WhatsApp to search for keyword only in the groups, he or she needs to select groups and WhatsApp will search accordingly. It basically narrows the search for WhatsApp.

Other new features slated to come soon are Restrict groups, ability to watch Instagram and FB video in WhatsApp and more.
