WATCH: Visit of Kashmir Pandits leaves Tral village in tears

The visit of a group of Kashmiri Pandits to Dever Tehsil Tral in South Kashmir has brought back old memories of the pre-1990 era and brought tears to the eyes of villagers as well as the visitors.

The video of the visit on the Facebook page of ‘Addl Dy Commr Tral’ is also going viral on social media and has made netizens emotional.

The group of Kashmiri Pandits, presently residing in Jammu, visited Dever village of Tehsil Tral.

‘The delegation comprising C L Butt, Koul Ji and others was received by Addl Dy Commr Tral S A Raina and Muslim and Sikh Community. The group was welcomed in a gesture of love and communal harmony/ Kashmiriyat. The Muslim community hugged and shook hands with tearful eyes. They shared periods of childhood,youth, joy, sorrows and Kashmiriyat with tears,” the Facebook post said.

On the occasion,the Addl Dy Commr said: “This is our syncretic culture.The Kashmiriyat is the ideñtity and ethos which emerged stronger every time.”

He further said the people of both the communities have in ‘personal capacity reclaimed Kashmiriyat, the idea of harmony and coexistence’.

The group visited various householders, friends and neighbours.
