Doha: A video of a Ugandan gas station worker delivering a Friday sermon is breaking the internet.

After Imam was late, people asked Abdul Rahman Abdul Rashid to come to the pulpit and deliver a sermon.

Dressed as a gas station worker, he delivered the sermon with eloquence

He was widely praised for his eloquence and his memorization of verses from the Holy Quran.

Media reports said the Ugandan young man came to lead the worshipers in a small mosque, located within the vicinity of a gas station near Hamad International Airport.

Ajyal educational center, a Qatari institution, later honored the Ugandan youth. The center welcomed him with a corridor of honor, amid the applause of the center’s children, who threw flowers at him and standing ovation.

The center published a video recording of the Ugandan youth during his honor, saying in a statement that the “Wathiq” program this season aims to address the phenomenon of bullying and highlight the intrinsic value of the human being and that it does not improve his appearance.

The center added that “in the context of promoting the right behavior and tolerant Islamic values, the participants in the program honored the Ugandan gas station worker.”
