Srinagar, Sep 7: Police investigating the murder and gang-rape of 9 year-old Boniyar giral exhumed her body for further tests on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on September 7 claimed to have arrested five persons involved in “gang rape and murder” of a minor girl from Trikanjan Boniyar Uri who was found dead on weekend after remaining untraced for ten days in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Those arrested include her step mother and a step brother.

Reports said that a team of experts from Srinagar arrived at Trikanjan village and exhumed the body in presence of Tehsildar Boniyar and SDPO Uri. The body was shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for further forensic work including some new tests.

SSP Baramulla Mir Imtiyaz Hussain said that certain medico-legal aspects needed more clarifications which local doctors couldn’t do. “Therefore, some experts were called in to fulfill all the formalities,” he added.
