Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh – A wedding celebration turned into chaos in Chandauli district after a man, upset over not being served paneer, rammed a minibus into a crowd of guests, injuring several people and causing property damage worth lakhs.

The incident occurred during the wedding of Rajnath Yadav’s daughter in Hamidpur village, Mughalsarai Kotwali area. The festivities were underway on Saturday evening when Dharmendra Yadav, a guest, stormed into the food area and, upon failing to find paneer among the dishes, became enraged.

“Dharmendra started eating and asked for paneer. When he didn’t find it, he got angry and drove a bus into the gathering, injuring eight people and causing damage worth over ₹3 lakh,” said Rajnath Yadav.

In a fit of rage, Dharmendra hijacked a tempo traveller and rammed it into the wedding guests before fleeing the scene. Among the injured were the groom’s father and the bride’s uncle, both of whom are being treated at a trauma centre in Varanasi.

The wedding ceremony was temporarily halted as the groom’s side refused to continue until a police case was filed against the accused. The FIR was lodged, and the wedding eventually resumed the next day around noon.

The local police have launched an investigation, and efforts are underway to apprehend Dharmendra Yadav.
