Srinagar, Jun 14: Welcoming the United Nations Report on rights violations in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that the report was long overdue.
“It is a welcome report and people of Jammu Kashmir thank the authorities at the UN human rights office in Geneva for producing such a report for the first time,” JKDFP Secretary General, Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said in a statement.
Moulana Tari especially thanked UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein for finally vindicating the stand of resistance leadership about the human rights abuses in the disputed region.
Moulana Tari said that United Nation’s Report on Kashmir has rightly called for a final political solution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through meaningful dialogue.
He further said that the United Nations (UN) has a key role to play in the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
