Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed two more deaths due to Covid-19 on Saturday. Both were elderly persons, one hailing from Kashmir another from Jammu.
Medical Superintendent Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, Dr Salim Tak told a local news agency that an elderly person, over 70 years old, from South Kashmir’s Shopian district was admitted in the hospital and breathed his last Saturday morning.
He said the deceased was a Covid-19 patient, and also suffered from various ailments including asthma and high blood pressure.
Another elderly person, above 60 years old, died at Medical College Jammu Saturday morning.
Medical Superintendent Government Medical College Jammu Dr Dara Singh said that the female patient from Miran Sahab Jammu was suffering from different ailments besides having ‘Pleural effusion’, sometimes referred to as “water in the lungs”.
With these two cases, the death toll due to COVID-19 in J&K has reached 38 among which 33 deaths took place in Kashmir Valley alone. (With inputs from KNT)
