Two Kashmiri students thrashed at Sharda University

Srinagar, Oct 04: Two Kashmiri students were allegedly thrashed by the local students in Sharda University at Greater Noida Delhi.
The Kashmiri students identified as Ahtisham Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmad of Khanyar, Ubaid Yaseen, son of Muhammad Yaseen of Chadoora Budgam were thrashed by the local students in the varsity.
Ubaid Yaseen a Kashmiri student said that the local students thrashed the duo Kashmiri students for unknown reasons.
“We were coming out from our hostel when a group of local students came nearer to us and thrashed us mercilessly,” he said, adding that “a tussle between Afghanistan and local students are currently going on and in that context, we were beaten by the local students for unknown reasons.”
He said that they approached to the varsity authorities and called Kashmir police as well in this regard. “No steps are being taken to ensure security to the Kashmiri students,” he said.
However, the officials could not be contacted for the comments in this regard.
