Washington: US President Donald Trump has launched a new website inviting immigrants to register interest in a $5 million “Trump Card” — a high-end visa pathway that promises US citizenship in exchange for investment.
Trump announced the move on Truth Social, saying, “FOR FIVE MILLION $DOLLARS, THE TRUMP CARD IS COMING!” He claimed the program would offer a “beautiful road” to access the United States and its market.
The website, trumpcard.gov, allows applicants to sign up with basic details and select whether they’re applying individually or as a business. It features a gold-colored card with Trump’s face and is accepting registrations from eight global regions. Though the card hasn’t formally launched, the site promises that registered users will be first notified once applications open.
Trump said the program could replace the EB-5 investor visa and raise enough revenue to help reduce the national debt. The Trump Card would require a $5 million investment, compared to the EB-5’s $800,000 to $1.05 million. Critics say the move favors the wealthy, while Trump argues it will attract job creators and support the US economy.
