SRINAGAR SEPTEMBER 11: In the run-up to the General Elections to Legislative Assembly-2024, the 2nd phase of Election Training for Poll Personnel to be deployed in all Eight Assembly Constituencies of Srinagar District concluded here today.
The Training Sessions which are a part of the District Election Office’s Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program were carried out on the directions of District Election Officer(DEO) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at Eight different locations across the District.
While paying visits to training venues, Dr. Bilal applauded the efforts of Master Trainers in equipping the Election manpower with required skills during elections and stressed intensifying the training sessions to leave no scope for errors during the process of upcoming Assembly Elections.
Dr. Bilal further said that the Administration is fully geared up with all machinery for the smooth conduct of the Elections and is making significant arrangements for the welfare of poll personnel before and on the day of Polling.
The Master Trainers deputed by the DEO delivered exhaustive training sessions to equip the participating Employees with skills and knowledge to operate polling machinery on the day of elections.
During the sessions, the participating Employees were given hands-on experience in operating and managing Poll Machinery on the day of Polls and were also trained on how to handle emergencies, manage crowds, and address issues of security.
While delivering his exhaustive session, Coordinator Trainings for Srinagar, Dr. Manzoor Reshi ensured that the Employees have a clear understanding of the Election Laws, Rules, and Regulations which, as the Election Staff, have to follow in the Election process.
The special instructions were conveyed by Dr. Reshi to the participating Employees for strictly following the Poll guidelines for ensuring free and fair Assembly Elections in Srinagar.
Besides, the Employees were also oriented towards the proper management and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct enforced by the Election Commission of India.
The training and hands-on experience sessions were conducted in different sessions to lay a strong base of well-skilled manpower for the smooth and hassle-free elections in 8 Assembly Constituencies in district Srinagar.
The trained staff will be deployed to man 932 Polling Stations in Srinagar for which, 26 Nodal Officers, 40 Assembly Constituency Nodal Officers, 23 Zonal Magistrates, and 112 Sectoral Magistrates are working tirelessly to ensure the smooth conduct of scheduled elections.
Moreover, 25 Flying Squad Teams (FST), 26 Static Surveillance Teams (SST), 13 Video Surveillance Teams (VST), and 8 Video Viewing Surveillance Teams (VVST) have been put on the job as an extra layer of security and monitoring for the elections.
