Training camp on ‘Socio-Economic, PLFS, ASUSE Surveys’ concludes

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 30: The National Statistics Office (NSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Regional Office Srinagar, successfully organized a four-day Regional Training Camp focused on the Socio-Economic Survey (December 23-24, 2024), Periodic Labour Force Survey (December 26, 2024), and Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) (December 27, 2024). The camp, held from December 23 to December 27, 2024, took place at the Regional Office in Srinagar.

The training was conducted under the supervision of Arif Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Director, NSO-FOD RO Srinagar, and Syed Adil Zahoor, Assistant Director, NSO-FOD Sub Regional Office Baramulla. Participants included field staff (Statistical Enumerators and Field Investigators) from RO Srinagar, SRO Anantnag, and SRO Baramulla, along with Coordinators, Statistical Supervisors, and in-charge officers from the sub-regional offices.

The camp was inaugurated by Adil Zahoor, Assistant Director of SRO Baramulla, who emphasized the importance of these surveys in understanding the socio-economic dynamics of the region. He highlighted the critical role of accurate data collection in shaping effective policies and programs to foster economic development and address public needs.

Training sessions were led by Arif Iqbal Bhat, Assistant Director, and Sheikh Taheen Mustafa, Senior Statistical Officer at the Regional Office Srinagar. Mustafa delivered comprehensive modules on Social Consumption on Health, PLFS, and ASUSE, while Bhat provided training on the Comprehensive Modular Survey (CMS) on Telecom. Throughout the camp, participants engaged in hands-on training, interactive workshops, and discussions, covering topics such as data collection techniques, survey methodologies, and statistical analysis. These sessions aimed to enhance the capacity of the workforce, ensuring precision and professionalism in conducting surveys.

Arif Iqbal Bhat expressed gratitude to all participants for their dedication and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained in their respective roles. He reiterated the importance of these surveys in improving socio-economic conditions and emphasized their role in informed decision-making. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Masrat Siddiq, Senior Statistical Officer, RO Srinagar.
