Srinagar, Mar 13: Much awaited Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat Express is likely to start after Holi.
This new semi-high-speed train will connect Jammu and Srinagar . This new-age train will be operated and maintained by the Northern Railway (NR) zone.
Currently, the Ministry of Railways and Northern Railway (NR) zone is busy monitoring ticket sales and controlling the huge influx of passengers amid the festive season. Holi 2025 will be celebrated on March 14.
Earlier this month, a senior railway official said that the Vande Bharat train service between Jammu and Srinagar is expected to begin this month.
“Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train is likely to be launched in March. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. The final decision will be taken by the Railway Board (RB),” ETNOW.in quoted an unnamed official.

The Jammu to Srinagar will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) and Srinagar.

The fare or ticket prices of the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express train have not been finalized yet. It is expected that the fare for traveling from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar and vice versa could be around Rs 1500-1600 for an Aan C Chair Car and Rs 2200- Rs 2500 for an Executive Chair Car. These ticket charges will include Rs 40 as the Reservation Charge and Rs 45 as the Superfast Charge.
