Srinagar, July 10: Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) on Tuesday demanded an immediate end to the civilian killings in Kashmir.

The members of the traders’ body staged a protest at Lal Chowk’s Ganta Ghar to make their demand.

Addressing media persons, Co-Chairman KEA, Farooq Ahmad Dar, condemned the civilian killings.

“The present situation is volatile. In 2008 and 2010, we witnessed the same situation,” he said.

“The killings have been going on for a long time. If killings will not stop, we all will come onto the streets. It seems that BJP government in the centre wants to prolong the bloodbath.”

Referring to the recent Kulgam killings, he said it was unfortunate that a 12-year-old girl was killed.

“Two young boys were also killed. What was their sin? They were simply protesting against the excesses,” Dar said.
