Kupwara, Feb 13: It was an emotional scene in north Kashmir’s frontier district when the dead bodies of two of the slain Army Soldiers in Jammu attack reached his native villages on Tuesday.
Despite rains and harsh weather conditions, thousands gathered at Bhatpora Hyhama village of Kupwara to bid adieu to Habibullah Qureshi son of Amanaullah Qureshi who was among the six soldiers killed in Sanjuwan attack.
He was posted in 36 Army Brigade at Sunjwan Jammu.
Habibullah is survived by six daughters. His wife is expecting another baby. The other members of the family include four sisters, brother and elderly parents.
Meanwhile, locals said that it was one of the biggest funeral processions they had seen for anyone in the area.
“Habibullah was a good human being and never troubled any villager. He always used to help his neighbours and will be missed by everybody in the village,” said one of the locals.
Mohammad Ashraf Mir son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir Resident of Maidanpora Lolab Kupwara and was also laid to rest in his native village with hundreds of people braving cold conditions participated in the last rites.
