New Delhi, May 29: Tata Motors is all set to launch the much-awaited all-electric Harrier EV tomorrow at 2 pm, marking a major step forward in its electric vehicle strategy. With a driving range expected to exceed 600 km and advanced all-wheel drive capabilities, the Harrier EV promises to be one of the most capable electric SUVs in its class.
After months of teaser videos and camouflaged test sightings, the Harrier EV has steadily transitioned from a concept first seen at the Auto Expo to a production-ready model, recently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
Tata has confirmed several key features ahead of the official debut. The SUV will come equipped with terrain modes such as rock crawl, snow, and sand, thanks to its dual-motor setup powering both axles. The Harrier EV will also feature a boost mode for enhanced performance during off-road adventures. Additional highlights include a transparent hood view, off-road cruise assist, and a 360-degree camera system for all-round visibility.
Inside, the Harrier EV will mirror much of the ICE version’s layout but with an EV-specific touch. It includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster featuring EV-centric graphics.
Tata has previously confirmed a peak torque output of around 500 Nm. Although earlier reports pegged the EV’s range at over 500 km, the latest teasers strongly indicate a figure above 600 km on a single charge. The Harrier EV will also support fast DC charging along with V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities, boosting its practical utility.
The electric Harrier will be offered with two battery configurations, likely including a 75 kWh pack. Built on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, which is a significant evolution of the OMEGA Arc platform, the SUV shares its underpinnings with the upcoming Curvv EV that debuted in 2024.
Following the Harrier EV’s launch, Tata is expected to introduce the next-generation Sierra in both ICE and electric formats by the end of this financial year. The company is also working on the premium Avinya EV series, based on JLR’s EMA modular platform.
