Sylvester Stallone to reprise his action role in Rambo V






Sylvester Stallone is on board to reprise his role of the action character John Rambo in Rambo V. The fifth instalment in the 36-year franchise will be brought to Cannes this week by Millennium Media, Screen Daily reported. In the film, Stallone’s Rambo will be seen living on a ranch in Arizona, deeply troubled and wrestling with PTSD as he picks up casual work wherever he can.

When the longtime family friend and estate manager Maria informs the former soldier that her granddaughter has gone missing after crossing into Mexico for a party, he sets off with her to find the youngster. In pursuit, Rambo uncovers a sex-trafficking ring and teams up with a journalist whose half-sister has also been kidnapped. He must deploy all his skills to save the girls and bring down a vicious crime lord.

The production for the new project is scheduled to start from September 1 and will be shot at locations such as London, Bulgaria and the Canary Islands.


A director will be announced shortly. Avi Lerner and Kevin King are attached as producers, with Matt Cirulnick writing the screenplay. The previous films in which Stallone played Rambo consist of First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III and Rambo.

Millennium Media’s Cannes sales slate includes Rod Lurie’s Afghan War title The Outpost, which is set to begin shooting on August 15 and stars Scott Eastwood, Orlando Bloom, and Caleb Landry Jones, reported

On the work front, Sylvester Stallone will be seen in an upcoming American sports drama film Creed 2, which is a remake of 2015 release with the same title. It will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. The actor has another action film in his kitty. He would also be starring in Escape Plan 2: Hades with Dave Bautista, Jaime King, Jesse Metcalfe, and Wes Chatham as the newcomers.

Huawei Enjoy 9S with a triple rear camera setup has been officially unveiled in China. The Enjoy 9S is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC. Huawei has also brought the Enjoy 9e smartphone with an 87 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 13-megapixel primary camera. The Enjoy 9e also comes with Huawei’s proprietary SuperSound audio technology. Additionally, the Chinese company has unveiled the Tablet M5 Youth Edition with GPU Turbo 2.0, up to 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of inbuilt storage. Both Huawei Enjoy 9S and Tablet M5 Youth Edition will be available for pre-orders starting today.

Huawei Enjoy 9S, Enjoy 9e, Tablet M5 Youth Edition price

The Huawei Enjoy 9S price in China has been set at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,400) for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage option, while its 128GB storage model comes at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,400). The phone comes in Coral Red, Magic Night Black, and Aurora Blue variants. The Blue variant sports a gradient finish. The phone will go on pre-orders starting today.


In contrast, the Huawei Enjoy 9e price has been set at just CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,300) for the lone 3GB RAM/ 64GB storage model. It will be available for pre-orders in China beginning April 2.

The Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition has been priced at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 12,300) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage Wi-Fi only model. However, its LTE model with 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage option comes at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,400). The Wi-Fi only Tablet M5 Youth Edition with 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage option is priced at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,400), while its LTE model carries a price tag of CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,400).

Huawei has also brought the 10-inch Tablet M5 Youth Edition that comes at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 22,600) for 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage, while its LTE variant is priced at CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 24,600). The tablet will go on pre-orders in China later today.

There is no word on the international availability of any of three Huawei devices right now.

Huawei Enjoy 9S specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Huawei Enjoy 9S runs Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. The phone features a 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display along with an 89 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a waterdrop-style notch. Under the hood, the Enjoy 9S has a HiSilicon Kirin 910 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM.

For photos and videos, the Huawei Enjoy 9S packs a triple rear camera setup along with a 24-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, 16-megapixel secondary sensor sporting a 117-degree of wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone also comes with Huawei’s Artificial Image Stabilisation (AIS) and 480 fps super slow-motion video support. Also, there is an AI-based scene recognition support that is touted to recognise over 500 scenes. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel sensor at the front with a number of AI enhancements.

The Huawei Enjoy 9S has 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage options, both of which are expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor at the back. Besides, the phone packs a 3,400mAh battery.

Huawei Enjoy 9e specifications

Similar to the Enjoy 9S, the Huawei Enjoy 9e runs Android Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. The phone also comes with a 6.09-inch HD+ (720×1560 pixels) display along with a waterdrop-style notch design, and 87 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The phone is powered by a 12nm SoC that is clocked at 2.3GHz. The phone also packs 3GB of RAM.

The Huawei Enjoy 9e sports a 13-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.8 lens and HDR support. There is also an 8-megapixel sensor at the front along with an f/2.0 lens.

On the storage front, the Huawei Enjoy 9e features 64GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB). The phone comes with Huawei’s SuperSound audio technology that is touted to enhance the sound output. There is also FM radio onboard.

Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition specifications

Coming to the Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition, the tablet comes in 8-inch and 10-inch screen sizes. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC along with GPU Turbo 2.0, paired with 3GB and 4GB RAM options.

The Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition packs a 5,100mAh battery that is touted to deliver 62 hours of music playback on a single charge. It will be sold in both Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + LTE variants.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 to come with NFC, ECG sensor: Report

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its next fitness band, Mi Band 4. The new fitness band from Xiaomi has been confirmed to launch this year and it could arrive as early as April.

Huami, the company behind Xiaomi’s wearables recently confirmed the launch of Mi Band 4. At Huami’s earnings call, David Cui, the company’s Chief Financial Officer said, “For Mi Band 4, it’s going to be in this year. It will be in 2019. But I’m not sure, it’s going to be in March and April. But, it is going to be in this year.”

With the launch of Mi Band 4 coming soon, the fitness band has also visited the rumour mill. Xiaomi Mi Band 4 was spotted on Bluetooth certification site revealing that the fitness band will come in two versions. Mi Band 4 (XMSH08HM) comes with support for NFC, while the XMSH07HM model lacks the same. This would a major upgrade over its predecessor, Mi Band 3.


The listing also showed the Mi Band 4 will support Bluetooth 5.0. In comparison, Mi Band 3 offers Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity. There are some rumours around the Mi Band 4 coming with an ECG sensor, but details are still scarce on that. Another upgrade on the Mi Band 4 is expected to be a colour display.

The details on Mi Band 4 reveal to be a major upgrade over the Mi Band 3. Launched last September in India, Mi Band 3 is priced at Rs 1,999. It comes with a 0.78-inch OLED display, a 110mAh battery, and heart sensor.

Automated tech can detect eye surface cancer

Researchers have developed an automated, non-invasive technique for diagnosing eye surface cancer, which may reduce the need for biopsies, prevent therapy delays and make treatment far more effective for patients.

The method, described in the journal The Ocular Surface, comprises the custom-building of an advanced imaging microscope in association with state-of-the-art computing and artificial intelligence operation.

The result is an automated system that is able to successfully identify between diseased and non-diseased eye tissue, in real-time, through a simple scanning process.


“Clinical symptoms of ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) are known to be variable and in early stages can be extremely hard to detect so patients may experience delays in treatment or be inaccurately diagnosed,” said Abbas Habibalahi, a researcher at the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics (CNBP).

“The early detection of OSSN is critical as it supports simple and more curative treatments such as topical therapies whereas advanced lesions may require eye surgery or even the removal of the eye, and also has the risk of mortality,” said Habibalahi, lead scientist on the project.

Researchers have developed is a technological approach that utilises the power of both microscopy and cutting-edge machine learning.

“Our hi-tech system scans the natural light given off by specific cells of the eye, after being stimulated by safe levels of artificial light,” said Habibalahi.

“Diseased cells have their own specific ‘light-wave’ signature which our specially designed computational algorithm is then able to identify providing a quick and efficient diagnosis,” he said.

“We successfully identified the diseased cells in all eighteen cases. A quick test using our automated system is all that is necessary to pick up early warning signs of OSSN,” said Habibalahi.

A key benefit of the innovative setup is that the OSSN diagnosis foregoes the need for a biopsy approach.

“This benefits both the patient and the doctor. Biopsies of the eye can be traumatic and can also be costly and time intensive with samples needing to be sent to a laboratory for testing,” Habibalahi said.

In addition to the early-detection and non-invasive benefits, the technology is able to precisely map the location of abnormal tissue margins on the eye.

“Next steps are to make our system practical and workable in a clinical setting. We hope to do this by incorporating our system into a standard retinal camera setup — similar to that used by opticians and optometrists when undertaking regular eye examinations,” he said.
