Suspected militants kill, abduct another youth in Shopian

Srinagar, Nov 17:One civilian was found dead while two others were released by suspected militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.

The militants had abducted five youth during the day – three in the morning and two in the evening.

The abductions happened barely 36 hours after a teen was kidnapped and eventually shot dead by militants in the same district during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

A police official said that suspected  on Saturday morning abducted three civilians from  SaidporaPayeen village of the district.

The official identified the abductees as Shahid Ahmad Ganie, Farooq Ahmad – both residents of SaidporaPayeen and HuzaifAshrafKutay of Manzgam.

They, according to the official, were abducted from a bakery shop.

Late during the day, Shahid and Farooq were let go however Huzaif was found dead, apparently his throat slit, at village Hermain of the district.

By the evening, two more civilians were abducted from Meemender village of the district.

A police official identified them as Hakib Javed Ganie of Meemander and Ishfaq  Ahmad of Pudsoo.

Pertinently, Nadeem Manzoor of Safnagri village of the district was shot dead following his abduction on Thursday night. His bullet riddled body was recovered from adjoining Pulwama district.

A purported video showing militants pumping volley of bullets into his body already went viral on social media.
