Srinagar, Oct 20: Former minister and people’s conference leader Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday claimed that Srinagar will have a Mayor from his party Peoples Conference.
Lone took to his Twitter handle to convey the news: “All set Inshaallah to have the first mayor from PC. Expecting very good results. Time to give Srinagar what it deserves. A set of hardworking people who work there on the ground,” he wrote.
He, later, again tweeted: “I had earlier mentioned that we don’t have a common symbol allotted to us. That is the reason our candidates r shown as independents. We have taken 6 towns and are sure of getting the mayoral position in Srinagar.”
Earlier, governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik had stoked controversy for his remarks on Srinagar mayor.
