Stop playing with fire: Mehbooba asks BJP

Srinagar, Apr 8: Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that if Article 370 is abrogated, India would become an “occupation force” in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The BJP has been unsuccessful on all fronts. Now the party wants to mislead people to get the votes,” Mehbooba, the former chief minister, said.

She said that Article 370 is a bridge between Jammu and Kashmir to India. “If Article 370 is abrogated, India will become the occupation force in Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.

She asked the BJP to refrain from its “ill-intensions”.  “I want to warn (BJP) to refrain from such acts. Stop playing with fire otherwise JK, India and even entire sub-continent will be put on fire,” she said.

She also tweeted and said, “Why waste time in court. Wait for BJP to scrap article 370, it will automatically debar us from fighting elections since Indian constitution won’t be application to JK anymore.”

The BJP on Monday released its manifesto for the parliamentary polls. In the manifesto, the party said they are committed to abrogate Article 370 and Article 35 A.
