Srinagar: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Sandeep Chakravarthy joined a Muharram procession in Srinagar, reflecting the administration’s commitment to ensuring peaceful and smooth observance of the religious occasion.
During the procession, SSP Chakravarthy interacted with mourners, volunteers and members of the local community. He reviewed the security and traffic arrangements put in place for the event and directed officials to facilitate the movement of participants while maintaining public safety.
The SSP appreciated the cooperation extended by the public and religious organizations in maintaining discipline during the procession. He emphasized the importance of communal harmony, mutual respect and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of Muharram observances.
Adequate security personnel were deployed along the procession route, while traffic management measures were implemented to minimize inconvenience to commuters. Senior police officers remained present on the ground to monitor the arrangements and address any issues.
