Srinagar LS seat: Educational institutes cum polling stations to remain shut until Apr 18

Srinagar, Apr 14: As Srinagar Lok Sabha seat is going to polls on April 18, the district administration Sunday ordered the suspension of class work in educational institutions where polling booths have been set up.

“In view of the forthcoming Parliamentary elections 2019, the class work of the educational institutions requisitioned U/S 160 of the Representation of Peoples Act 1951 will remain suspended from 15-04-2019 to 18-04-2019,” said an order issued by District Election Officer.

K K Sidha, Nodal officer elections, and ADC Srinagar told The Kashmir Monitor that order was issued exclusively for the institutes where polling booths have been setup. “Only those colleges and schools where polling staff and forces will be camping for election purposes shall remain closed for class work,” Sidha said.
