Srinagar-Leh highway closed for 5th straight day

Srinagar, Apr 24: The highway linking the Ladakh region with Kashmir valley remained closed for the 5th consecutive day Tuesday.
Officials said that the Traffic remained suspended on 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh highway for the 5th day consecutive day today due to accumulation of snow and slippery conditions at Zojila pass and Minimarag.
Officials said that the Border Roads Organization cleared snow today but there are 5-6 slides at several places in Zojila area and expectations are that road from Drass side up to Zero point will be cleared till today evening.
The snow clearance continued today and once they are cleared the highway will be re-opened for traffic officials said.
