Noida: In a disturbing case of online feud turning into street violence, a Mahindra Thar SUV allegedly driven in rage rammed into a young man in Noida’s Sector 53, flinging him into a roadside drain. The incident, captured on camera and now viral on social media, has prompted swift police action and reignited concerns over rising street aggression.
Police said the violence was the fallout of a social media argument. “There was a dispute between the two parties under the jurisdiction of Sector-24 police station over comments made on Instagram. Both individuals know each other,” said ADCP Noida, Sumit Kumar Shukla.
Eyewitnesses reported that the argument escalated quickly, ending with the Thar driver deliberately accelerating and hitting the victim with such force that he was tossed off the road and into a drain, where he lay motionless and bleeding. The SUV then sped away.
A case has been registered under sections related to rash driving, causing hurt, and criminal intimidation. “A police team has been formed to arrest the accused,” confirmed ADCP Shukla.
Authorities have launched a manhunt, while the viral video showing the brutal impact and its aftermath has sparked widespread outrage. Citizens online are demanding tougher action to curb road violence and hold aggressors accountable.
The incident highlights the dangerous crossover of online hostility into real-world violence, raising urgent questions about public safety and digital aggression.
