BUDGAM, APRIL 26: In pursuance to the J&K Legal Service Authority calendar of activities for the year 2025, District Legal Services Authority Budgam, under the able directions of Justice Shri Arun Palli, Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Patron in Chief), J&K Legal Services Authority and Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority organized a Special Lok Adalat on Consumer cases today on 26th April 2025 in district Budgam for the amicable settlement of Consumer cases.
Under the insightful directions of O.P Bhagat Chairman DLSA Budgam & under the Supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, two Special Lok Adalat Benches were constituted at District Budgam. The Bench no 1 comprised of Aiman Amin (Judicial Magistrate first Class/Munsiff Chara-i-Sharief) and N.A. Mashooq (Panel Lawyer) Chara-i-Sharief and Second Bench No. 2 comprised of Rabyia Snober Gulzar (Judicial Magistrate Ist Class/Munsiff Magam) and Hilal Ahmad Malla (Panel Lawyer) Magam.
Total numbers of 65 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 19 matters were amicably settled. Besides, an amount of Rs 1,64,512 (One Lac Sixty four thousand five hundred twelve ) was also realized in total in the settlement.
Meanwhile, DLSA Ganderbal in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committees of Ganderbal & Kangan Saturday conducted Special Lok-Adalat for amicable settlement of consumer cases in the district.
The Lok-Adalat was held under the direction and supervision of Abdul Nasir, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Ganderbal and under the guidance of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal. To facilitate the smooth settlement of consumer cases, two benches were constituted. Overall 30 number of cases were taken up for settlement out of which 28 cases were amicably settled.
