Soldier abducted, vehicle torched by suspected militants in south Kashmir

Srinagar: An Indian Army soldier was abducted by suspected militants late on Sunday in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.

Police sources said that the soldier from Territorial Army (TA), identified as Shakir Manzoor, was abducted from his home in Rambhama village of Kulgam on Sunday evening.


A senior Police officer when contacted confirmed the incident and said that searches have been launched to trace out the abducted soldier. “Police and security forces are on job (to find out the abducted soldier),” he added.

No militant group has so far owned responsibility for this abduction.
