SKIMS organises Blood Donation Camp

SRINAGAR, JUNE 17: To mark World Blood Donor Day, the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology at SKIMS organized an in-house blood donation camp at the SKIMS Auditorium.

Over 30 individuals from various cadres—including doctors, paramedical staff, and members of the local community—voluntarily donated blood, reinforcing the spirit of selfless service and solidarity.

The camp was aimed at promoting awareness among the general public about the importance of regular voluntary blood donations in saving lives.

Director SKIMS & EOSG, Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie, lauded the efforts of the blood donor community, expressing deep appreciation for their commitment to this noble cause. He encouraged sustained participation and emphasized the critical role of such initiatives in supporting the healthcare system.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS also commended the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology for their dedicated service and ongoing efforts to ensure safe and timely availability of blood.

All participating donors were awarded certificates of appreciation by the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology, SKIMS.
