SRINAGAR, JUNE 24: As part of the month-long activities commemorating World Hypertension Day, SKIMS Soura organized a comprehensive Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Health Camp in the tribal area of Naranag, Kangan, reaffirming its commitment to community outreach and preventive healthcare.
The camp was a joint initiative of the Departments of Community Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, and Endocrinology. The multidisciplinary effort offered a wide range of services, including awareness and sensitization sessions, screening, specialist consultations, and free distribution of essential medicines.
Approximately 200 individuals, including adults and children, benefitted from the camp. Several new cases of hypertension and diabetes mellitus were identified during the screening, and immediate treatment was initiated.
Director SKIMS & EOSG Prof . M Ashraf Ganie appreciated the departments for the initiative & said it reflects unwavering commitment of the Institute to reaching the underserved and vulnerable sections of the population, especially in remote and tribal areas.
