Sharjeel was shot dead days before his marriage

Srinagar, Apr 11: As the news of encounter spread, hundreds of civilians hit the streets of Khudwani locality in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
People made announcements on Loudspeakers asking others to come out and save the Militants trapped at an encounter site nearby.
The troops including 1 RR of Indian Army, SOG And CRPF halted the operation around 12 midnight after installing search lights.
One of the civilians killed during the encounter was Sharjeel Ahmed Sheikh, a Driver from Khudwani area of South Kashmir.
“He was taking a bath when a bullet hit him on his chest,” family of the slain
He was immediately rushed to the hospital but he died on the way to the hospital, his family said.
“He was getting married on the 15th of this month, but today his dead body reached the house,” a family member said.
He was 27 years old and was a sole bread earner to a family consisting of a Mother, Father and a Younger Brother.
