In the second phase for May 2025, the event was organized at 16 police stations of the district: PS R.M. The meetings were chaired by supervisory officers and jurisdictional police officers and were attended by civil society members including representatives of Auqaf Committees, members of Traders Federation and transporters, Panchayati Raj members, religious preachers, and mohalla elders.
During the Lok Darbar cum awareness programme, participants raised various issues of public concern and shared grievances within the purview of the district police, such as illegal narcotics trafficking, sand mafia operations, traffic congestion, and the challenges posed by floating populations. Issues pertaining to civil administration—like road maintenance, sanitation, public health, and electricity—were also noted.
District Police Srinagar stated: “Thana Diwas–Lok Darbar is a platform for us to connect directly with the people we serve. It is our duty to ensure that every citizen feels heard and that their grievances are addressed promptly. We are committed to building a safer and more secure environment for all.”
