JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01: International Tennis Player, Rohan Bopanna called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, today.
He briefed the Lieutenant Governor about his endeavor to nurture and shape the young talent of Jammu Kashmir and provide them with sporting and educational opportunities at his tennis academy in Bengaluru under the program for empowering children from underprivileged sections, a collaborative initiative by Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy and Kamal India Foundation.
He informed that the children selected from the Jammu division as well as from the Kashmir division will receive free boarding, lodging, education, and comprehensive tennis training at Bengaluru.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the ace Tennis Player for his noble initiative to empower the children belonging to underprivileged sections of society through sports and education.
Later Sinha met Nazia Bibi, an International Kho Kho Player from J&K who represented India at the recently concluded Kho Kho World Cup-2025 at New Delhi. Nazia, hailing from Nagrota, Jammu was a part of India’s Women Kho Kho World Cup winning team. The
Lieutenant Governor congratulated Nazia for her remarkable achievement at the international event and conveyed best wishes to her for the upcoming tournaments.
Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, former Minister and senior BJP Leader also called on Lieutenant Governor. He also expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his timely interventions to ascertain the cause of mysterious deaths in Budhal village of Rajouri District.
Later, Advocate Ankur Sharma, BJP Spokesperson called on Sinha and apprised him of various issues of public importance.
