Srinagar, November 15: National Conference leader and Member of Parliament, Rahullah Mehdi, Friday said that no president of the Indian National Congress (INC) or Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has the authority to distort the resolution passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in its previous session.
He said this resolution categorically expresses the people’s disapproval of the amendments made and the unconstitutional abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, which was guaranteed from 1953 to 2019.
Rahullah Mehdi stressed that the resolution seeks the reinstatement of all guarantees in their original form, specifically Articles 370 and 35A, as they existed before 1953.
He warned that any attempts to misinterpret the resolution, whether by JKPCC, INC, or even members within the National Conference, would be rejected by the people and rendered irrelevant, just as the BJP’s allies were in the previous election.
