Heavy snowfall in the Kashmir Valley has caused widespread power outages, leaving many areas in darkness since last night.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Saturday that he is in constant contact with the PDD team to oversee the situation.

In a post on X, Omar Abdullah shared, “In the Kashmir region, 41 feeders at the 33 KV level and 739 feeders at the 11 KV level are down, but none at the 132 KV or 220 KV levels. Restoration work is underway, and over 90% of feeders are expected to be restored and functional by evening.”

He added, “I’m in regular touch with the PDD team to monitor the situation.”

The heavy snowfall has also disrupted road, rail, and air travel across the region.
