Bengaluru: A fiery spell from young pacer Rasikh Salam powered Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a comfortable victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2026 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
After being put in to bat, LSG struggled to build momentum and were restricted to a modest total of 146 in their allotted 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was Salam’s exceptional bowling performance, as he picked up four crucial wickets while conceding just 24 runs. He was well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who chipped in with three wickets to dismantle the LSG batting lineup.
Despite a fighting knock from Mitchell Marsh, who top-scored for LSG, the visitors never looked in full control as RCB bowlers kept striking at regular intervals.
In response, RCB made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just over 15 overs with five wickets in hand. The home side’s batting unit showed composure and intent, with Virat Kohli leading from the front with a steady innings at the top.
The relatively low target meant RCB never came under significant pressure, as they maintained a healthy run rate throughout the chase. LSG bowlers failed to create enough breakthroughs to make a contest out of the game.
With this win, RCB continue to assert their dominance in the tournament, while LSG will be left ruing missed opportunities, particularly with the bat.
Earlier, the match had raised hopes of a potential upset after LSG posted a defendable total, but RCB’s clinical performance ensured there were no late surprises.
