JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: The 10th edition of Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2025 was inaugurated in Jammu today. The event, organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), saw the presence of Chandeshekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI, J&K and Ladakh, along with Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of J&K, as the Guest of Honour.
The Reserve Bank has been observing Financial Literacy Week annually since 2016 to enhance awareness on key financial topics among different segments of the population. FLW 2025, being observed from February 24-28, 2025, focuses on the theme “Financial Literacy: Women’s Prosperity”, aiming to empower women by improving their financial awareness and decision making capabilities.
This year’s campaign highlights crucial topics such as risk diversification, responsible borrowing, maintaining a good credit score, and household budgeting. Special attention is being given to homemakers, working women, and women entrepreneurs.
Throughout the week, the Reserve Bank, in collaboration with banks and other stakeholders, will conduct awareness programs and outreach activities across the country. These initiatives will continue beyond FLW 2025 to ensure a lasting impact on financial literacy.
The program was also attended by Sudhir Gupta, Executive Director, J&K Bank; Neeraj Kumar, General Manager, RBI, Jammu; Vikas Mittal, General Manager, NABARD, Jammu; and Anil Kumar Sharma, Deputy General Manager, PNB. Officials from RBI, PIB, SIDBI, UTLBC convenor banks, Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), nodal officers of various banks, and representatives from the Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL) also participated in the event.
