SRINAGAR, APRIL 10: For the first time in 35 years, the sacred narrative of Ram Katha is set to be held in the valley.
Renowned Hindu spiritual preacher Pujya Morari Bapu will be narrating the Ram Katha in the picturesque Chashme Shahi area of Srinagar.
The spiritual event will begin with the Mangalacharan (inaugural prayers) at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on April 19 at 4 PM. Devotees from across the country are expected to attend, as anticipation builds for this rare and historic occasion.
This marks Morari Bapu’s third Ram Katha in Jammu and Kashmir. His 666th Ram Katha, titled “Manas Amarnath”, was held on June 23, 2007, and the 801st Katha, “Manas Matru Devo Bhava”, was narrated at Katra on October 1, 2016, in reverence to Mata Vaishno Devi.
The event is being hosted by Arunji Shrof of Kolkata, a dedicated devotee of Morari Bapu’s Vyaspeeth. This will be the seventh Katha organized under his stewardship. Speaking with devotion, Arunji described himself as a mere instrument in this divine mission.
As per the organisers, preparations for the event have been ongoing for the past two months in Srinagar.
