Srinagar, Dec 23: The death toll from a mysterious illness in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, has risen to nine after a woman succumbed to the unknown disease today.
The woman, a resident of Badhaal village, had earlier lost two sons and a daughter to the illness. Reports indicate her symptoms differed from those observed in previous fatalities.
Authorities have launched an immediate probe to determine the cause of death, and a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) mobile lab has been dispatched to expedite testing and identify the disease.
